空手の型は、前面に一人の相手を想定したもの、と言う。実際にやってみると確からしい。
棒術は空手と密接な関係があると言う。だったら型も同じ発想だろう。末吉の棍で相手を前面に一人想定してやってみた。
左右に受ける動作は、前面の相手の左右からの打ち込みを受ける動作と解釈すれば一応、一通りの動作は解釈可能である。ただ、他の型は、前面に一人の相手を想定して全ての動作を解釈することは難しい。例えば振り返り動作の時に、空手の型と異なり相手を掴んで振り回すようなことを想定できないから、同一の相手に対する動作としてつながらないのである。
棒術の型は空手の型に対して更に発想を変えて解釈する必要がありそうである。まだ、そこまではできていない。

It is said that the karate kata(=type, model) is designed assuming one opponent on the front. It seems certain if I try it.
Bo-Jutsu is said to be closely related to karate. So I think the kata would be the same idea. I tried to assume one person in front with Sueyoshi's kon.
The motions received to the left and right can be interpreted as a single person if it is interpreted as the receive of the swing motions from the left and right of the opponent on the front side. However, it is difficult for other katas to interpret all actions assuming one opponent in front. For example, when performing a turn-back motion, it is not possible to assume that I will grab and swing around the opponent, unlike the karate kata.
It seems that the kata of Bo-Jutsu needs to be interpreted differently from the kata of karate. I haven't been able to do that yet.
