玄制流S.I.先生は二段で師範の資格を出すと言われていたが、空手は生きる術ではないと思っていたことからそこでは二段を取らなかった。当時二十歳前のことである。
今では、もし近所の子供達に空手を教えるとしたら、バックボーンとして師範の資格を取っておけば良かったと後悔している。
大学空手部では、卒業時に四段を出して頂いた。聞いたら大学空手部では初段以上であれば道場を開いて人に教えても良いそうである。ただ、大学空手部は元の会派を離脱しているので特定流派・会派のバックボーンはない。
特定流派・会派のしがらみが無いことはある意味幸いなことだと思う。そこで、玄制流、江上流ともに首里手であることから、特に流派には拘らずに首里手愛好会と称することとした。

It was said that Genseiryu teacher S.I. would qualify as a teacher in 2 dans, but I did not take 2 dans because I knew Karate was not a way to live. That was before I was twenty.
Now I regret that if I wanted to teach karate to my neighbors, I should have qualified as a teacher as a backbone.
In the university karate club, I took 4 dans when I graduated. I heard that in the university karate club, if it is 1 dan or higher, I can open a dojo and teach people. However, there is no backbone for a particular sect or denomination because the university karate club has left the original sect.
I think that it is fortunate that there is no binding of specific sects and denominations. Therefore, since both Genseiryu and Egamiryu are Shurite, we decided to call it association of Shurite fans regardless of sects.
