もう一つ。相手を左側に想定した場合、最初の動作はその攻撃手を右方向に受け流す(送り出す)動作と考えることができる。
競技空手では突き切った後、即、引く様に教えていると思う(玄制流のS.I先生の教えがそうだったので)。だから、普通なら突いてきた方向にそのまま送り出すことはできない。
ただ、突き切る間際、引き動作に移行する直前に突いてきた方向に押し出すと容易にそちらに流すことができる。その時に方向を下に変えれば相手を転がすこともできる。上に変えれば後ろに倒すことができるし、横に変えれば相手を振り回すこともできる。
しかしながら、これも “one of them” であって、本当に正しいのかどうかは判らない。

I think that in Competition Karate I was taught to pull immediately after I finished punch(because of the teaching of S.I.). Therefore, normally, it is not possible to send it in the direction which it was thrusted.
However, it is possible to make it flow easily if it is pushed out in the direction in which it was just before the transition to the pulling action, just before it is cut off. At that time, if I change the direction down, I can roll the opponent. If I change it to the top, I can beat it to the back, and if I change it to the side, I can swing the opponent.
However, this is also “one of them” and I don't know if it is true or not.
