玄制流のワンカンを覚えた後、ワンシュウ（燕飛）、ワンカン、ワンダウは元々３つセットで稽古していたとの説を見つけた。
ワンシュウは大学空手部で覚えた型である。それでワンダウという型を知りたくなった。これも国内では欠伝しているとのことであるが、海外には残っているようである。比較的簡単に動画が見つかったので覚えた。Wanduanという綴りの動画が多いが、他にWando、Wandoh、Wandan等の綴りもあるようである。言語の相違によるものだろうか。

富名腰義珍著の琉球拳法唐手術では、ワンダウとワンドゥは別の型として紹介されている。海外の動画（綴り）が正しければ、ワンダウもワンドゥも同じ型のように思われる。ワンドゥと言う別の型が存在するのだろうか。または富名腰先生の勘違いなのだろうか。

ここではワンダウと記載するが、これは掛け手から前蹴り、猿臂、下段払い・外受け等の連動作が続き、結構合理的に構成された型と思う。これが日本国内では何故欠伝してしまったのだろうか。琉球王国時代から続く空手は日本国内ではなく海外に、よりキチンと伝承されているようだな、と思う一例である。
ジユウムとコカンも見たことがないので気になるが・・。

After learning the Genseiryu Wankan, I found the theory that Wanshu, Wankan, and Wando were originally practiced in sets of three.
Wan Shu is the kata I learned in the university karate club. That made me want to know the kata of Wando. This is also said to have been losted in Japan, but seems to remain overseas. The video was relatively easy to find. There are many spelling videos called Wanduan, but it seems that there are also spellings such as Wando, Wandoh, and Wandan. Is it due to language differences?

In the Ryukyu Kempo Karate by Gichin Funakoshi, Wandau and Wando were introduced as different katas. If the overseas video (spelling) is correct, Wandau and Wando seem to be the same kata. Is there another kata called Wandau? Or is it mistaken for Funakoshi sensei?
Although it is referred to as Wando here, I think that this is a fairly rational kata, with a series of continuous operations such as front kicking from the hold hand, elbow, lower receive and outside receive. Why has this been losted in Japan? Karate, which has continued since the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom, is an example of how it seems to be handed down to foreign countries rather than in Japan.
