玄制流の宗家として聞いたことの無い方が型教範を出版されていた。確か筆者が高校生のころで、当時玄制流の新空手道教範(祝嶺制献著)を探していた頃なので、同じ玄制流の教範をやっと見つけたと思って即購入した。ただ、その中は教わった型との相違が結構多くあり、当時それについて、玄制流 S.I.先生に聞いてみたことがある。
S.I.先生によると、その方が宗家を称するに当たっては、祝嶺制献先生のところに頼みに行ったそうである。祝嶺先生としては既に躰道に移行されていたので、玄制流を継ぐ人が出てくることは良いことだったのだろう。その教範には祝嶺先生の寄稿文も載せられていた。
型の相違については、「その教範では変えてあるんだよ」、とのことであった。が、自分には変えた意図が判らない。個々に教える際にはこういうオプションもあるよ、と言うことで変手を教えても良いと思うが、教範で広く伝承するときには極力原型を変えることなく伝えるべきではないかと思う。そうしないと伝言ゲームのようにどんどん変質化してしまうから。さらに残念なことにその後、基本型の教範も出されたようであるが（現物は見ていない）、玄制流の基本型ではなく、平安の型を玄制流の基本型として掲載しているそうである。玄制流の基本型は天・地・人位の型、及びその集大成として三才の型である。特に、人位の型は好きな型なので極めて残念である。
大学では機械工学を専攻していたけども、そこの先生は、「何事もそもそもの一番大元のものを確かめないと本当のことは判らないよ。論文ならその一番元となった論文、流体力学ならラム、リープマン・ロシュコとか、例えばロックならビートルズ・・」とよく仰っておられた。宗家ってその流派の“そもそも”を伝える人ではないのだろうか。いろいろな迷ったときに戻るべきものを伝えるような・・。そういう意味ではS.I.先生の方が余程、適任と思う。こんなことを書いたら玄制流の人達に怒られるのだろうか・・。
因みに、抜塞大と公相君大は新空手道教範（５年位前にネット通販で入手！）と動画で覚えたが、ワンカンとローハイは載っておらず、他に頼るものもないので、改変されているのだろうなと思いつつ、先の宗家の教範で覚えた。
･･････････････････････････････ or Mr.Seiken Shukumine. For Mr.Seiken Shukumine, he had already been transferred to Taido, so it must have been good for people to take over Genseiryu. The textbook also included a contribution by Mr.Seiken Shukumine.
Mr.S.I. said, "It has been changed" about the difference of the kata. However, I do not understand the intention which changed it. I think that it is good to teach the various techniques by saying that there is such an option when teaching individually, but I think that it is necessary to tell it without changing the prototype as much as possible when teaching it widely by the textbook. If you don't, it'll be more and more mutated like a message game. In addition, it seems that the textbook of the basic katas was also issued afterwards (I'm not seen the actual thing), but it seems to have posted the katas of heian as the basic katas of Genseiryu rather than the basic katas of Genseiryu. The basic katas of Genseiryu is the katas of Ten-i, Chi-i, and Jin-i, and the kata of Sansai as the culmination. In particular, it is extremely regrettable because the Jin-i is a favorite kata.
I majored in mechanical engineering at university, but the professor said, "You don't know the truth unless you check the original things in the first place. If it is a thesis, it was the original paper, it was Lam or Riepman-Roshko if it was hydrodynamics, and it was Beatles if it was rock music, for example." Isn't the head of sect who conveys the original things of the sect? It's like telling you what to go back to when you're lost. In that sense, I think That's more appropriate for Mr.S.I. If I write something like this, will I be scolded by the people of Genseiryu?
By the way, Bassai-dai and Koshokun-dai learned in the Shin-Karatedo Kyohan (obtained by online shopping about 5 years ago!) and youtube, but Wankan and Rohai were not described in the book. As there is nothing to rely other, I learned it in the aforementioned textbook, though I thought it had been modified.
