ナイハンチ(9)-立ち方/Naihanchi (9) -How to stand

玄制流のナイハンチは比較的歩幅を大きく取り、腰を低く落とす。S.I.先生からは最初、騎馬立ちは肩幅よりやや広く、という程度で教えられたが、やっていると「もう少し広げて」「もう少し下げて」と、どんどん歩幅が大きく、腰が低くなっていった。小学生の頃のことである。
ずっとそれが正しいと思っていたので、大学空手部で鉄騎初段をやるときにもその歩幅、腰の高さでやっていた。ただ、立ち方のところで以前書いたが、本当にそれで良いのか、それが元々の(原型の)教えなのかが気になり始めた。本当に琉球王国の武士達はそんな不自然な、動きにくい、急速に疲れやすい立ち方をしていたのか。
ナイハンチの原型を追い、富名腰義珍著の琉球拳法唐手、錬膽護身唐手術、本部朝基著の私の唐手術等までたどり着いた結果、どうも違うようだと気付いた。
今は、最初に教えられた、肩幅よりやや広い程度で、膝は軽く曲げる程度の立ち方にしている。

The Genseiryu Naihanchi takes a relatively long stride and lowers its waist. At first, Mr.SI taught me that the equestrian standing was a little wider than the shoulder width, but when I was doing it, I stepped wider and became lower, as I "widen a little" and "lower a little". It was when I was in elementary school.
I always thought that was correct, so even when I played Tekki Shodan in the university karate club, I used to wide stride and low waist. However, I wrote earlier about how to stand, but I started to wonder if it was really good or if it was the original teaching. Were the samurai of the Ryukyu Kingdom really standing in such an unnatural, difficult to move, and tired rapidly?
After following the prototype of Naihanchi, I realized that it seemed to be different as a result of reaching the Ryukyu Kempo Karate by Gichin Funakoshi, the Rentan Goshin Karatejutsu, and my Karatejutsu by Motobu Choki.
Right now, I'm standing a little wider than the shoulder width that I was taught at the beginning and bending my knees slightly.
