拳法概説は空手史を調べていたときに引用されていることが多く、興味を持っていた。国立国会図書館のデジタルブックに無く、古書店でも見つけられず、復刻版が出版されたときには迷わず購入した。
読んでみて気付いたが、これは大学に入ってから空手を始め、2・3年の人が執筆したものである。それでこれだけの本を執筆できるというのは大したものだと思う。
ただ、恐らく船越義珍氏のことと思うが批判的な文言が多い。端的には試合をすべきだとの駄々っ子のような理屈立てと正当化に終始しているように感じた。こういう流れで今の競技空手が形作られたのだろうか･･。
読んでいて、空手を始めて2～3年の若造が空手歴数十年の大師匠に向かって何を言っているのかと思った。一通り読んだが、そういう印象を持ってしまったので残念ながら殆ど頭に入らなかった。

The Kempo Gaisetsu was often cited when I was researching karate history, and I was interested in it. I didn't find it in the NDL's digital book, and I couldn't find it at an old bookstore, so I bought it without hesitation when the reprint was published.
As I read it, I noticed that it was written by a few years after the author started karate after he entered university. I think it's a big deal to be able to write this much book.
However, it is probably for Gichin Funakoshi, but there are many critical language. In short, I felt that he was just trying to rationalize and justify such a crap that a match should be played. I wonder if the current competition karate was shaped in this way.
As I was reading, I wondered what a young man who had been doing karate for a couple of years was talking to a master teacher with decades of karate. I read it all through, but unfortunately I didn't get anything in it because I had such an impression.
